Rentals

I'm renting or purchasing a pump for mother's room at work. How do I get a breastpump?

Email info@hh-bc.com or call the Healthy Horizons Corporate office at 650-579-2726. Most companies purchase or rent the Medela Symphony or Ameda Platinum. Both options are available to purchase or rent. All pumps are subject to local sales tax.

I'm a parent. How do I rent a breastpump?

Rent a pump or scale online at https://www.breastpumprentalsonline.com. Pumps and scales can be shipped anywhere in the United States. Pick-up and delivery are available in the San Francisco Bay Area. Many health insurance companies work with families to reimburse rentals. There is a one-month rental minimum. The daily rate applies to pump rental only, after the pump has been rented for one month. All pumps and scales are subject to local sales tax.

Should I use a hospital-grade breastpump?

Hospital-grade pumps are more powerful than personal use pumps. They help many moms produce more breastmilk, pump in less time, and have a more comfortable pumping experience.

Can multiple moms use a breastpump?

Yes, if the pump is a hospital-grade breastpump designed for multiple users. The hospital-grade breastpumps we rent and sell are used in hospitals around the world. They need to be properly sanitized in between uses.

How can I use my insurance to cover my breastpump?

Healthy Horizons can provide you with a superbill with insurance codes. You can use this to apply for reimbursement from your insurance company. Email your name and order number to BreastfeedingCenter@hh-bc.com to request a superbill.

Why should I rent a baby scale?

Renting a baby scale allows you to track your baby’s growth and breast milk intake.

Which baby scale should I rent?

If you have a full-term baby, all of our scales will meet your needs. If you have a premature baby, we recommend getting a more sensitive scale, such as the Doran DS4500 Scale, Doran DS4100 Scale, or Medela Baby Weigh II Scale.

How do I extend my rental?

Your rental will automatically be extended if it is not returned on the due date and your credit card on file will be billed. You can rent your pump or scale as long as you need it. You can also email BreastfeedingCenter@hh-bc.com if you have a specific rental extension date.

How do I return my rental?

You can drop your rental off at our Burlingame or Menlo Park locations during business hours. We have an after-hours rental drop-off location available by request. If your order was shipped, use the same packaging the rental arrived in and email BreastfeedingCenter@hh-bc.com to request a return mailing label.

Lactation & Parenting Consultations

What happens at a breastfeeding consultation?

During this visit, the consultant may take the weight of the baby and will observe a nursing session. They will answer any questions or concerns you have and will provide techniques and tips to help address any breastfeeding problems the mother or baby is experiencing. Back to Work Consults are available for mothers returning to work. All visits are 1 hour, except for twins visits which are 2 hours. Additional time is prorated at the hourly rate.

How do I prepare for a breastfeeding consultation?

With a newborn, please limit the amount you feed the baby to one-half a normal feeding amount when your appointment is within 1 hour. The baby will be more willing to feed during the visit. If you are supplementing with breastmilk or formula, please bring extra milk with you if you have a non-latching baby.

If your baby is a newborn and experiencing weight loss or slow weight gain, please bring a record of the number of breastfeedings, bottle feedings, and supplement amounts along with the number of soiled and wet diapers.
