Maggie has blown me away with her depth of knowledge on breastfeeding...I am an older, brand-new, first-time mom (Yup, "geriatric maternity" right here), I just assumed my milk would come in like everyone else. Well, it didn't. Then comes Healthy Horizons and meeting Maggie (I like to call her my "Lactation Angel")...I have felt SO supported and hopeful that I can still breastfeed my sweet little boy. Thank you, thank you, thank you Healthy Horizons and Maggie!!
I didn’t feel rushed and it allowed for each of the mom’s to open up about their struggles. I am very thankful for the group as it allowed me to feel I am not alone on this journey, that my struggles are normal and be thankful for my own journey when compared to others. For example I felt bad for having been in bed for a week with the pain and found out that it is actually pretty mild in comparison to others. Made me even more grateful to my body.
I loved the breastfeeding support group! It was small enough to truly address our issues in a supportive, friendly environment.
Through tears and laughter, I felt supported by a group of strangers that I have never felt before. These women gave me strength, support, and hope that I was not expecting going into the class. Like I said, I am SO GLAD that I went. Thank you, Healthy Horizons for offering this wonderful venue for women to come together in empowering ways.
It was my first support group and it was so wonderful to chat with other moms going through the same issues, while also receiving helpful tips for breastfeeding.
